Frequently asked questions
Does PixVault upload my photos?
No. Selected photos and output files are processed locally on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
What metadata can PixVault remove?
PixVault can remove common EXIF and GPS fields, camera and lens information, and original timestamp metadata by creating a newly encoded output file without copying source metadata.
Which formats are supported?
PixVault supports HEIC, JPEG, PNG, WebP, and TIFF when the selected format is supported by the operating system and device.
How does target-size compression work?
PixVault searches for an image quality that fits the selected file-size target while keeping metadata removal enabled when requested. Results depend on image content and output format.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Settings in PixVault and choose Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple Account that made the original purchase.
Can I use PixVault from other apps?
PixVault includes Shortcuts actions and an iPhone/iPad Share Extension. On Mac, it also provides a Finder Service for selected image files.
Should I check exported files before sharing?
Yes. Review the output and the removal report before sharing or uploading files, especially when sensitive location or device information is involved.
