Privacy Policy
Foshan Gaoming Huiyang Network Technology Studio ("we") provides Footprint ("the app") for Mac. Footprint is a local, text-only self-check that helps you review your own past social media posts before a US visa application. This policy explains how information is handled.
1. Data collection
We do not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share your personal data or your imported content through the app. Footprint has no account and no sign-in.
2. What you import, and where it stays
You import a data export archive (ZIP) that you request from your own social platform (for example, X). The app never connects to, signs in to, or crawls any account on your behalf. Imported posts are read and analyzed entirely on your Mac. Your imported content is never uploaded, shared, or transmitted to us or any third party.
3. On-device analysis
Analysis runs on your device using Apple's on-device foundation models and, optionally, an additional on-device model. The text of your posts is processed locally to flag items that may be worth a careful human re-read. The content of your posts is never sent off the device for analysis.
4. Network use
The app's analysis is offline. Network access is used only for two narrow, content-free purposes: (a) a one-time download of the optional on-device analysis model from a model host, and (b) Apple StoreKit for in-app purchases. Neither of these transmits your imported posts, your analysis results, or your account information.
5. On-device storage
Imported data and analysis results are stored locally on your Mac in a backup-excluded location. App settings, onboarding state, and purchase state may be stored using Apple system storage. "Delete everything" in the app removes the imported data and results the app can access.
6. In-app purchase
Footprint offers consumable in-app purchases through Apple StoreKit to unlock a scan's full report. Apple manages payment, tax, and purchase history. We do not receive your full payment card details. Because these are consumable purchases, there is no purchase restore, and reinstalling the app clears your local data and any unlocks.
7. No analytics, ads, or tracking
The app does not include advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking. Required-reason system APIs (such as user defaults, file timestamps, and disk-space checks) are used only for local app function and do not move data off the device.
8. Support contact
If you contact us by email, we may receive your email address and message content. We use this only to respond, investigate issues, and meet legal obligations. Please do not send us your imported posts or other personal data.
9. Not legal advice; no affiliation
Footprint provides information to assist you; it is not legal or immigration advice and does not predict immigration outcomes. The app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by X Corp., any social platform, or any government agency.
10. Changes
We may update this policy when laws, Apple requirements, or app features change. The latest version and effective date will be posted on this page.
